Many people judge north Koreans differently, however race does not matter when it comes to hunger, and freedom, and not all north Koreans are enemies, since most north Koreans just want a chance at freedom. I personally think that there wish is totally acceptible, and we should not judge differently. I think that
Hyeonseo's discription of the situation when all the north Koreans are starving, is a deep and important one. We must understand that there food supply is only limited, since they only depend on the little food being grown in there own land, and being donated from other country's.
In Canada, and many other country's. All races are allowed to go to school, and have all the rights, and privileges that a normal Canadian has. Hyeonseo experience in a Chinese school however, was different and cruel. The Chinese school did not allow any north Koreans, since at the time, china and north Korea were not agreeing with each other. I do not understand why, Innocent children can not go to a Chinese school, even if they are north Korean, since they have done nothing wrong to offend China personally. I also understand that the Chinese are trying to protect themselves, never the less, I do not think those choices are correct, and personally would never have made those rules.
All in all, Hyeonseo story to freedom was fascinating and exhilarating to read. I thought that when she gave the speech on the Ted stage that she was confident as a speaker, and despite the fact that her English was a bit rusty, she was very loud, and not afraid to present her voice to the audience, and she showed her own emotions in her tone as well. My favourite part of her speech, was her eye contact toward the audience. She allowed the audience to feel her sorrows, and her relief when she escaped the Chinese police. I definitely loved the speech, and hope her all the best in the future.
