Al Pachino Motivation Speech in the Movie “Any Given Day”

In the movie “Any Given Day” Al Pachino plays the coach of a football team.  He makes a speech before an important game starts.  This speech is what I think is one of the most team motivating speeches I’ve ever heard.  It included amazing was to make a speech better than just the sound of just someone talking.

Please note: It is NOT Al Pachino’s speech. This is written by the script writer.  If a different person had starred the coach, the speech definitely would have been different.  The director, Oliver Stone also played a role in the gesturing and facial expression.

The speech started calm though quite solemn.  As the speech built up, it got more intense.  I could almost smell the determination that the speech created.   The purpose of he speech is obviously to motivate the players on the team.  The slow build up was effective for that purpose.  Starting off extreme would only make get rid of any motivation that would build.  Al Pachino added effective facial expressions and hand motions while delivering the speech.  The strong gestures complimented the speech adding accents on important lines.  Using his hands as accents to words added meaning to the speech as it also made it more interesting.

The speech script itself was put together extremely well.  The words were amazingly well put together creating a great motivating speech Great job script writer!  The speech is also focused on the term inches.  It was interesting to hear how much the players want to win. This part of the speech added a bit of spice in to the video.
Over all, the work of Al Pachino, the director, and the script writer paid off to a great speech to begin the end of what seems to be a good movie.
