Piers Morgan had an exciting debate about gun control with
three experts. He started the debate by bringing in a quote that says it’s time
to bring in a new gun control law. One of the three experts made a few examples
by then, saying that there was a school attack in China, but the 22 children
are only injured because the intruder didn’t carry a gun. Last year there were
9000 people dead from gun murders in America; but similarly countries like
Germany, 170, Canada, 150, etc. I agree with the statement which shows that
less gun, less dead in murders. But it is also undeniable facts that guns can
be used as self-defense. In fact, hundreds of people had saved their lives with
guns in America last year. If the government banned the gun, then the citizens
will be left unarmed and more easily to be harmed.
What Steve Dulan was saying is that guns are made since the
1800s, it would be impossible to totally ban it. In fact, there should be more
guns in the school. If more maniacs come into the school and start firing, and
the school doesn’t have enough guns to stop them, more innocents will die. To
me, I think this statement is more reliable because if you think about it
carefully, will the bad people actually hand in their guns? I would laugh if
they do. So many had died from gun shootings and they might have a chance to
live if they had machines for defense.
The debate was ended barrenly, both sides had their own
points and both sides couldn’t prove their self as a more convincing side. But I
believe after the debate, people will look at this whole event in a wider
variety of ways.
