Mitt Romney RNC Speech

This year, Romney is attempting to beat Obama with his RNC speech aiming towards being the next president of the United States of America. His speech had a few points that he strongly believed in. He thinks that strong military power is needed to stop problems like Iran’s growing nuclear threat. He promises that small businesses and middle class people won’t have problems with tax. He also states that he doesn’t care about saving the Earth, and he won’t do anything about it.

I have to admit, there isn’t much to say about Romney’s speech. He didn’t talk much about what he wanted for the USA; he only talked about what he didn’t want and why you shouldn’t vote for Obama. Although he does talk about taxes a lot. Even though the U.S.A. is in serious debt, he still doesn’t want to raise taxes. This could seriously damage the reputation of the American and more importantly its economy. Another damaging thing Romney wants to change is the military. He wants to be less vulnerable to threats such as Iran’s nuclear ambition. That means he must strengthen the military and stop the budget cuts on their supplies. This can do the same thing to their economy, ruin it even more.

In his speech, Romney says that he doesn’t want do to anything about the world’s biggest problem yet, global warming and the destruction of habitat and ecosystems. This can make the U.S. a less environmentally friendly and eventually lead to disasters. For example, he may take away the restrictions on fishing Bluefin Tuna or Cod giving fishermen more fishing to do. This can cause these animals to be over fish and lead to the Cod or Bluefin stocks to deplete. This can have great effects on not only the U.S. but also all the countries in the world.

As a Canadian, what I look for in his speech is mostly what would affect my country the most. As Romney doesn’t put nature on his to save list, that can change Canada too.  For Canada’s sake, I really hope that Romney doesn’t get the edge on Election Day.
